Whoever has learned to be anxious in the right way has learned the ultimate.

About This Quote

There are two kinds of anxiety: anxiety that comes from a lack of inner contentment and anxiety that comes from a need to be in control. The latter is the real source of anxiety. It’s the fear of being controlled by others or by things outside ourselves. In order to keep anxiety at bay, we must learn how to let go and accept what is happening without trying to control it.

But it’s not easy to do this, because if we want to be in control, we will want things our way. This is a dangerous trap that leads us into a lot of trouble.
